DESCRIPTION:Dr. Gloria McDaniel-Hall and Dr. Jamillah Gilbert observe that we rarely see parents/guardians as educational leaders. They further observe that parents/guardians are both the primary educational leaders in a child’s life and their very first teacher. They believe that it is so important that special education teachers find reasons and ways to collaborate with parents as positively and productively as possible. In this presentation\, Dr. McDaniel-Hall and Dr. Gilbert will discuss teacher perception of parental involvement and proven and effective strategies for increasing parental engagement.
