ICEC 2026 Fall Convention Call for Proposals
The 77th Annual Illinois Council for Exceptional Children Fall Convention will be held November 5–7, 2026 in Naperville, IL and we invite educators, administrators, related service providers, and partners to submit session proposals.
This year’s theme, “Engagement by Design: Supporting Every Learner’s Success,” highlights the intentional practices that shape meaningful and inclusive learning experiences. We are seeking presentations that showcase how educators thoughtfully design instruction, learning environments, and collaborative systems to increase engagement and improve outcomes for students with diverse learning needs.
Session proposals may focus on topics such as:
Inclusive practices and co-teaching
Evidence-based instructional strategies
Intervention and progress monitoring
Collaboration among educators and service providers
Systems that support student engagement and success
By sharing your expertise, experiences, and innovative practices, you will help build a convention experience that inspires and equips educators across Illinois.
Proposal submissions will be accepted through May 29. We encourage you to submit a proposal and contribute to a convention designed to support every learner’s success.

77th Annual Illinois Council for Exceptional Children Fall Convention
NOVEMBER 5-7, 2026
Chicago Marriott Naperville
The Illinois Council for Exceptional Children will be hosting the 77th Annual State Fall Convention November 5-7, 2026. Our convention is to be held at the Marriott Naperville, 1801 N. Naper Blvd, Naperville, IL. The attendance of approximately 400 participants is comprised of special educators, school administrators, parents of children with disabilities, exceptional children and adults, and college students. We will be providing exhibit space in the hallways outside of the breakout rooms.
