We celebrate Exceptional Children’s Week (ECW) during the first week of May each year to promote awareness of exceptionalities in children and youth.  This is a time to celebrate diverse learners. The Council for Exceptional Children (CEC) established this week to remind all individuals about the importance of acceptance and understanding.

Monday, May 2: Monday Musings – Share literature featuring exceptional children!

Tuesday, May 3: Talk About it Tuesday – Use social media to spread advocacy and awareness!

Wednesday, May 4: Wacky Socks Wednesday – Wear your wackiest socks!

Thursday, May 5: Thankful Thursday – Write a note to your favorite teacher, mentor, or student!

Friday, May 6: Friendship Friday – Share a your favorite activity with a new person!

Saturday, May 7: Saturday Stroll – Participate in ECW’s virtual 5k!

Nominate your students for the “Yes, I Can” Awards.  All completed nominations are due May 15th.
