We celebrate Exceptional Children’s Week (ECW) during the first week of May each year to promote awareness of exceptionalities in children and youth.  This is a time to celebrate diverse learners. The Council for Exceptional Children (CEC) established this week to remind all individuals about the importance of acceptance and understanding.

Monday, May 3: Social Media Monday – Post: “I celebrate Exceptional Children’s week because…” #ICEC #ECW

Tuesday, May 4: Wear Red to Rally Against Bullying

Wednesday, May 5: Wacky Socks Wednesday – Bring out your most wacky socks to support being different!

Thursday, May 6: Thankful Thursday – Write a kind message to someone who works with individuals with exceptionalities.

Friday, May 7: Wear Your Special Apparel – Special Olympics apparel/medals, Best Buddies gear, or represent your school/organization.

Nomination students for “Yes I Can”.  All completed nominations are due May 15th.
